Conformer because as cold blooded organisms, their internal conditions conform to their surroundings.
Migrator because these tortoises migrate at the beginning of dry season when the vegetation they eat for food is unavailable in their specific region.
Generalist because they can survive in many different environments and do not always have to be in one specific environment. This is demonstrated during their migration, as they can migrate seasonally to different regions and support themselves.
Consumer because they are unable to create their own food and need to consume plants to survive.
Herbivore because Galapagos tortoises’ diets consist mainly of vegetation that occur on their native lands, the Galapagos Islands.
Niche: Galapagos tortoises are native to the Galapagos Islands and were discovered by scientist famous scientist Charles Darwin. They are notable for being able to live upwards of 100 years, the oldest living ever found lasting 170 years. Their diet consists of cacti, grasses, leaves, lichens, and berries.
